Issue/Introduction

Starting with Aria Operations 8.18, you can add licenses to monitored vCenter systems from Subscriptions > License Management. When doing this process, you may get a message: "License key(s) could not added to the vCenter system(s)"

Click on View Details and The Status column will show as "Failed" and clicking the blue information icon shows a similar message "The license key could not be added to vCenter"

Within the analytics-wrapper.log, you may see the following ERROR:

2024/11/21 16:20:22 | INFO   | jvm 1    | 10:20:22.891 [pool-31-thread-11] ERROR com.vmware.vrops.licensing.vcf.task.AddVcfLicenseTaskExecutor - AddLicenseKeys Task failed: Cannot get license info for adapter with id :  462058. null
2024/11/21 16:20:22 | INFO   | jvm 1    | 10:20:22.892 [pool-31-thread-11] ERROR com.vmware.vrops.licensing.vcf.task.VcfLicenseAddTaskInfoBuilder - Failed to add license key HN2AZ-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-AMWJR to vc ########-####-####-####-############ (<VC_name>): Cannot get license info for adapter with id :  462058. null

In the example above, ID 462058 is the internal ID of the Infrastructure Health Adapter instance associated to that vCenter server.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The Infrastructure Health Adapter instance associated to the vCenter is not functioning properly.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting Aria Operations 8.18.x and will be addressed in a future release. If you are experiencing this issue, please reach out to Broadcom Support and reference this KB.
