Issue/Introduction

To confirm kernel version of NSX appliance (NSX Manager or Edge Transport Node):

1. SSH to the appliance as root.
2. Run the command below to confirm current kernel version:
   uname -r

Please note that the kernel version on NSX appliances is non-upgradeable. 

The only supported method to upgrade the kernel version is via upgrade of NSX to a more recent version.

Resolution

If Linux kernel version was flagged as outdated (e.g. by security scanner), you can upgrade it by upgrading your NSX stack to the latest version.
