Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The datastore cluster is not visible when creating a Storage Profile.
• The Datastore cluster is not attached to the Storage Profile after creating it via API call.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

When Storage DRS is enabled in vSphere it activates the initial placement for virtual disks based on space and I/O workload.

Without SDRS enabled, the cluster cannot be used for disk placement during provisioning, as the allocation will fail.

Resolution

Enable SDRS as per the vSphere documentation.
