This KB describes the procedure for distinguishing between a physical port down and a link down on the VCO event logs.
"Physical port down" and "Link down" each mean the following.
"Physical port down" means the port on the Edge itself is down.
"Link down" means all connections (ex: all VCMP tunnels, IPsec tunnels to Non SD-WAN Destination and so on) are lost from the Edge's port.
In the case of "Physical port down", "Edge Physical Link Down" and "Link dead" will be shown on the VCO event logs. On the other hand, in the case of "Physical port up", "Edge Physical Link Up" and "Link alive" will be shown.
<In case of "Physical port down/up" on GE3 port>
In the case of "Link down", "Link dead" will be shown on the VCO event logs. On the other hand, in the case of "Link up", "Link alive" will be shown.
