Unable to deploy vms with VMXNET3 adapters after migrating to Aria Automation 8.x

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

• You have migrated to Aria Automation 8.x and observe that the vms that are being deployed are deployed with E1000 network adapters and not with VMXNET3 adapters.
• You may have added the device_type: vmxnet3 property to the template but the behavior persists.

Environment

Aria Automation 8.16.2

Cause

The custom properties could previously be used in Aria Automation 7.x to specify the network adapter type. 

In Aria Automation 8.x, this is no longer possible.  The network adapter will be the same as that present in the vCenter template that Aria Automation is cloning from. 

Resolution

Update the templates to include the required type of Network Adapter.
