SAP adapter jobs fail reporting id / password issues

Issue/Introduction

When trying to run SAP adapter jobs from AutoSys when the job owner's password is more than 12 characters long the following is seen in the logs and the job fails.

 

%CASAP_E_991 Key: RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE
%CASAP_E_993 Message: Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)

Resolution

The max character limit is 12 for the password for the older SAP adapter job owners.
This will not change as the adapter is nearing end of life (March 2025).
There are no plans to provide any new features/fixes for the adapter.

NOTE - AutoSys with the SAP plugin has a limit of 127 chars for the password.
