Issue/Introduction

This article is dedicated to explain new feature implemented in 6.14, how to find VM membership differences between the automatically discovered flow-based application and the application definitions in your uploaded CSV file.

The new feature requires:

  • Flow-based Application Discovery (FBAD) enabled.
  • Manually Uploaded CSV file.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.14

Resolution

Navigate to ADD APPLICATIONS > Flows > SAVE to show Save Application modal.

The modal shows "Changes compared to CSV on top-right corner.

By clicking a number of VMs added or removed, a list of corresponding VMs is displayed.

Additional Information

Flow-based application discovery with CSV upload

You can now review the VM membership differences between the automatically discovered flow-based application and the application definitions in your uploaded CSV file. You can then continue saving applications discovered through flow-based discovery. You can also find VMs that were added or removed in the flow-based application discovery and review the reasons for any VMs removed from the application definition.
