How to capture packets of Edge from VCO

Issue/Introduction

This KB describes the procedure for capturing packets from Edge in VCO.

Resolution

1. Log in to VCO.
2. Select "Diagnostics" > "Diagnostics Bundles".
3. Click "+REQUEST PCAP BUNDLE".



4. Select the Edge name from which you want to capture packets from the the "Target" pull-down menu.


5. Select interface name from the the "Interface" pull-down menu.


6. Select the packet capture duration from the the "Duration" pull-down menu.
     If necessary, set the packet filtering rules within the dashed line. By setting filtering rules, you can narrow down the packets to capture.
7. Click [SUBMIT] button.



8. Confirm "Request Status" changes from "Pending" to "Complete Download".
9. Click the "Download" link.



***NOTE***
If the packet capture file size exceeds 100M bytes, all previously captured packets will be discarded, and the packet capture will restart from the beginning.
If you are capturing packets for a long time or if there is a high volume of traffic, create a mirror port on the Edge's counterpart device(s), connect a PC or similar device to the port, and perform the packet capture.
