Can Financial Department and Location ID have spaces?

Issue/Introduction

Most attribute IDs require no spaces.  However, it is possible to create both Financial Department and Location IDs with spaces.

Will this affect anything?

Resolution

It is acceptable  for the Financial Department and Location to have spaces in the ID.  The OOTB seed data does have spaces in the financial department and location.

 

These financial OBS IDs are actually associated with specific tables (departments/locations) where the ID is allowed spaces.  Anything related to these OBS use the actual internal ID (5 million number) to do any processing.

Financials will associate that 5 million number with the associated table to show the value, but all internal processing to produce anything for financials uses the internal ID.
