Issue/Introduction

Attempts to delete an empty vApp results in: Could not delete folder "Folder_Name (UUID)" because it contains: child "vm-XXXX"

Environment

Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

The corresponding object in vCenter still exists.

Resolution

• Ensure that the VM does not exist in vCenter. If it does, remove the VM by either the Remove from Inventory or Delete from disk menu items.
• Refresh and Reconnect vCenter to update the DB tables.
• If the VM does not exist, please check Stranded Items under Infrastructure Resources: Managing Stranded Items
