Issue/Introduction

During data collection for Infoblox IPAM integration on VMware Aria Automation (vRA), users encounter the following error:

 

java.util.concurrent.CompletionException: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field "documentSelfLink" because "subnetState" is null

This error occurs while running the data collection. However, all other workflows and actions, including IP allocation, DNS, and related functions, work as expected. The issue is isolated to data collection only.

 

Environment

• VMware Aria Automation 8.18.x

Cause

The issue is triggered when a network segment lacks an associated IP range. Specifically, the NullPointerException occurs when a subnet range references a missing or null subnet.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware Aria Automation 8.18.1 Cumulative Update #2
