Issue/Introduction

In Infrastructure Manager, under Security->Probe Administration, I see various permissions levels assigned to probes.

What do these mean?

Environment

DX UIM - Any Version

Resolution

Probe Security has read, write, and admin levels.

"read" - means that the probe cannot execute callbacks on other probes
"write" - means that the probe can execute certain callbacks on other probes
"admin" - means that the probe can execute additional "higher level" callbacks on other probes (mosty this relates to interacting with the controller and probe config files)

So for example "cdm" and "cluster" both get admin because they need to interact with each other's config files, "wasp" gets admin because it (through admin console) can do the same, and so on.

The permission levels for callbacks are set internally and these are not intended to be changed by end users.  Distribution of new probes updates this list automatically as needed.
