vSphere HA advanced setting das.respectvmvmantiaffinityrules does not work

Issue/Introduction

In a vSphere HA cluster some VM's may have affinity or anti-affinity rules in place to keep them together or seperate on hosts.

In the past advanced parameters were created that could be added to the clusters vSphere HA advanced settings section.

The advanced settings were intended to allow affinity & anti-affinity rules to be overruled by HA in the event of a failure.

This is no longer the case and creating the advanced setting cannot be relied on.

vSphere 8x

Cause

The advanced settings are no longer working as expected.

Resolution

Engineering are aware of the issue and are working to implement a fix in a future release.
