Issue/Introduction

The vmss2core tool was previously available as a standalone utility on the VMware Flings website. However, that version is no longer maintained.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi
VMware Workstation

Cause

The vmss2core tool is no longer distributed separately. It is now bundled with VMware Workstation.

Resolution

To access vmss2core, download and install VMware Workstation. After installation, the tool will be located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmss2core.exe
