Site recovery vCenter plugin shows "no healthy Upstream" after vCenter update

Issue/Introduction

After updating vCenter Server, Site Recovery plugin shows "no healthy Upstream"

In lookup service log file  var/log/vmware/lookupsvc/lookupserver-default.log, you can see lines similar to

<timstamp> WARN  com.vmware.vim.lookup.impl.LdapStorage] Failed to get endpoint host for <SRM_APPLIANCE_HOSTNAME>. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI is not absolute
<timstamp> WARN  com.vmware.vim.lookup.impl.LdapStorage] Failed to get endpoint host for <SRM_APPLIANCE_HOSTNAME>. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI is not absolute

 

Environment

vCenter Server 8.x
vSphere Replication 9.x
Site Recovery Manager 9.x

Cause

This issue can occur when SRM and vSphere Replication appliances are configured with hostnames and not FQDNs.

Resolution

Reconfigure SRM and vSphere replication appliance with FQDN instead of hostname
