Limitation on number of host groups displayed during transport node upgrade

Issue/Introduction

There's currently a limit on number of host groups that can be displayed during transport node upgrade - only 250 host groups can be shown in the host groups page.

If the total number of host groups exceed 250,  customer will find certain host groups missing in this page.

It's only after customer deleted some host groups and the total number of host groups fell below 250 that all host groups are properly displayed.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

This is a known UI issue. The backend actually supports more than 250 host groups. 

It's observed that the UI has default page size set as 250 and currently there's no pagination provided.

UI should provide pagination data and on click of NEXT page other remaining records should have been shown in the grid.

 

Resolution

The fix for this issue is included in NSX-T 4.2.1.

For versions prior to this release, it's suggested that customer re-organize their host groups to keep the total number of host groups below limit.
