Issue/Introduction

Server A was shutdown in Aria Automation. Server (physical) B was stood up elsewhere using the same hostname. Server C was deployed and reused Server A IP. In the mean time, Server A lease expired and was set for deletion in x days. Since lease expiration, the option to unregister Server A is now unavailable.

How do we unregister the VM from Aria Automation and avoid waiting for deletion in case it triggers other integration events (e.g. remove IP lease from Infoblox integration while associated IP is currently used by Server C)?

Environment

Aria Automation 8.16.0

Resolution

Before proceeding, we recommend a snapshot (without memory) to be taken of the Aria Automation environment.

Proceed to delete the VM with expired lease from vCenter.

After deleting the VM from vCenter, proceed to extend the expired lease of the VM in Aria Automation.

The Unregister action will then be available, proceed to unregister the VM from Aria Automation.

Finally, safely delete the deployment.

Additional Information

Deleting the VM from vCenter may cause the deployment to appear with missing status in Aria Automation.
