Issue/Introduction

As per 9.1SP5 pre-upgrade procedure, the entire old database or the listed tables in 'Pre-upgrade Steps' needs to be backed-up.

Is it possible to avoid full db backup in AA 9.1SP5 pre-upgrade procedure due to high data volume in production environment?

Environment

Symantec Advanced Authentication 9.1SP1 and 9.1SP5

Resolution

If the tables are too large to backup, the following tables and processes should be backed up:

Procedures:

  • ARADMIN_DELETE_SP
  • ARUDSORG_DELETE_SP

Tables:

  • ARPFCMNPRIVILEGEMAPPING
  • ARADMINROLEPRIVILEGE
  • ARRFMESSAGES
  • ARRFADVICECODE
  • ARRFADVICECONFIG
  • ARRFCONFIGURATION

Note: Its applicable only for version 9.1 SP1 to SP5 upgrade.
