DX NFA: 500 Error: Data_source_name_not_found_and_no_default_driver_specified

Issue/Introduction

If you run into an DX Network Flow Analysis server 500 error and see errors like this in the IIS W3SVC1 log:

x.x.x.x, -, 11/15/2024, 16:49:32, W3SVC1, <servername>, x.x.x.x, 755, 2075, 1826, 500, 0, GET, /customReportWizard.asp, currentStep=summary&reportID=x|98|80004005|[Microsoft][ODBC_Driver_Manager]_Data_source_name_not_found_and_no_default_driver_specified

and errors like this in the Windows Application Event Logs:

Active Server Pages:

Failed to retrieve the Anonymous User Token for ASP Application /LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT.  Global.ASA OnEnd routines will not be executed.

Environment

Network Flow Analysis
Microsoft Windows Server

Cause

This indicates that the installed version of Microsoft ODBC Connector is not compatible with the version of NFA that you are on.

Resolution

DX Network Flow Analysis does not support Microsoft ODBC 9.0.0+ (64-bit) until NFA 24.3.2. Please use ODBC Connector 8.4.0 (64-bit) for versions 23.3.12 to 24.3.1:
