Unable to configure NSX on an ESXi host due to unsupported LAG fields

Issue/Introduction

While trying to configure NSX on an ESXi host, the following error occurs: 

• Unsupported field LAGs specified in uplink profile [BaseHostSwitchProfile### for VDS DVSwitch_name. Please update LAGS from vSphere.(Error code:8531) 

 

Environment

vSphere ESXi 7.x

vSphere ESXi 8.x

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

VMware NSX-T Data Center

 

Cause

There was a LAG created on the vSphere DVS. However, there were no VMNICS assigned to the LAG on that ESXi host. 

 

Resolution

Assign VMNICS to the LAG ports on the vSphere DVS for the specific ESXi host.
