Issue with VMware Solution Add-On Management UI Plugin version after VMware Cloud Director 10.6.0.1 upgrade

Issue/Introduction

• The VMware Solution Add-On Management UI Plugin did not upgrade after the upgrade of VMware Cloud Director(VCD) from 10.5.1.1 to 10.6.0.1.
• The VMware Solution Add-On Management UI Plugin is still on 1.1.1 and does not upgrade to 1.2.0 after the VMware Cloud Director upgrade.
• There is no plugin available on Broadcom website to download and upgrade the VMware Solution Add-On Management UI Plugin
• You are unable to configure the landing zone in VCD. It can be seen it is using the old VCD API requests like: 
  
  Request URL: https://<vcd-fqdn>/api/admin/vdc/<vdc-id>/networks?format=idrecords
  
  
• When trying to configure the Solution Add-On Landing Zone you have the behavior as per below screenshot and you cannot continue with the configuration:
  
  

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.0.1
VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1.1

Cause

This is a known issue in VMware Cloud Director. The reason the plugin does not upgrade is because the spooling area / transfer storage and the plugin upload gets disrupted while the VMware Cloud Director appliance upgrades. 

Resolution

To work around the issue please follow the below steps to remove and re-upload the plugin manually via customize portal.

Here are the steps to recover the UI Plugin:

1. ssh to a Cloud Director primary cell.
   
   
2. Execute the following command:
   find /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/ -name 'cloud-director-solution*'
   
   
3. Expected result will look smiliar to:
   /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/system/com/vmware/vcloud/cloud-director-solutions/1.0.0/cloud-director-solutions-1.0.0.jar
   
   
4. Copy the jar file to your local desktop.
   
   
5. Extract the jar file using ZIP, if not prompted rename to cloud-director-solutions-1.0.0.zip
   
   
6. Navigate to <extracted path>/isoAddOns/***landing-zone***.iso
   
   
7. Mount ISO and navigate to <ISO mount point>ui/plugin.zip
   
   
8. Disable old plugins in VMware Coud Director.
   
   
9. Upload and active the new VMware Solution Add-On Management UI Plugin.
