Upgrading Aria Operations 8.x to newer version failed with error "Failed The PAK action"

Issue/Introduction

The Software Update page in the Admin UI displays the status Failed The PAK action "validate" script "source ./pak_python_wrapper.sh validate.py" failed for one or more nodes.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The wrong 8.14.x - 8.18.x upgrade PAK file was being uploaded.

Aria Operations 8.10.2 or older versions cannot upgrade directly to 8.18.1. It will have to upgrade to 8.17.2 first.

Resolution

Download and apply the correct upgrade PAK file on the Software Update page.
