HCX Service mesh creation failed with error: no host is reachable to any selected datastores

Issue/Introduction

Redeploying or deploying a service mesh, the following error is seen under Interconnect > Service Mesh > Tasks

No host is reachable to any selected datastores

Datastores selected to deploy the Service Mesh are not not present or not accessible by the ESXi hosts within the Compute Profile used by the Service Mesh: Interconnect > Compute Profiles > Edit the Compute Profile.

 

Environment

HCX 4.x

Cause

Datastores are not present or not visible in the HCX Compute Profile for the respective Service Mesh. The datastore information was not properly reconciled by HCX.

 

Resolution

On the HCX Manager --> Interconnect --> Compute Profile, ensure that the correct datastore is configured/selected in the Compute Profile and verify that it is accessible by all ESXi hosts in the cluster associated under the Compute Profile's cluster resource
