Unable to delete VMware vRealize Cloud Universal License from Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager

Issue/Introduction

VMware vRealize Cloud Universal Licensing cannot be deleted due the error:

You can not delete the <License Name> license as it is associated with one or more environments.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

All licensing in Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager that is associated with objects in inventory cannot be removed.  You must first remove the associated product before deleting the license.

Resolution

You must first remove the unused, associated object from inventory:

1. Snapshot or backup your Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager.
2. In Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager, navigate to VMware Aria Cloud, and Cloud Universal.
3. Delete the unused Cloud Universal instance that is associated with the affected license.
   1. Note - if deleting associated on-prem products, when prompted, DO NOT delete the associated VM's from vCenter.
4. Navigate to Locker, Licenses.
5. Delete the affected license.

Once you have tested and validated that everything is working properly, remove any snapshots you've taken to avoid future performance impacts.
