Issue/Introduction
The NSX-T UI shows that a Bare Metal (BM) Edge is still associated with a Logical Router (LR) even after the Edge has been removed from the cluster.
Running the get logical-router command on the BM Edge via SSH as the admin user shows no routers, confirming that the Edge is no longer associated with any Logical Router.
Environment
VMware NSX
VMware NSX-T Data Center
Cause
This issue occurs due to an indexing failure in NSX Manager, which prevents the UI from properly reflecting the updated state of the Edge and its Logical Router association.
Resolution
Workaround
To resolve the issue, perform a resynchronization of the NSX-T indexing components. Follow these steps:
Log in to all three NSX Managers as the admin user.
Run the following commands
start search resync policy
start search resync manager
start search resync all
Note:
The start search resync all command will temporarily make the NSX Manager UI unavailable for a few minutes. However, this will not impact the dataplane or control plane, and production traffic will not be affected.
After running the commands, wait 5–10 minutes for the UI to synchronize with the Edge CLI values.
Additional Information
These commands trigger a resynchronization of various NSX-T components to ensure the NSX Manager's configuration is aligned with the actual state of transport nodes, clusters, and edges.
If the issue persists after running these commands, consider opening a Support Request with Broadcom Support for further assistance.
