Issue/Introduction

  • Deleted ESXi hosts from vCenter 
  • Receive an alert "Host has lost connection to vCenter Server" for hosts that were deleted from vCenter
  • When viewing the object in Inventory we can see that Collection state is Collecting but Instance Status is not collecting similar to below screenshot 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Resolution

Aria Operations 8.18.x

    1. Sign into Aria Operations Product UI
    2. Click on Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management 
    3. Expand Adapter Instances > Click on vCenter Server
    4. Select the affected vCenter instance and click on Stop icon , wait 5 minutes collection and then start collection again
    5. Affected Host object(s) should appear in non existing state Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management > Collection States > Not Existing .  The alert previously triggered  "Host has lost connection to vCenter Server" will automatically cancel. 

Aria Operations 8.16/8.17.2

  1. Sign into Aria Operations Product UI
  2. Click on Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management 
  3. Expand Adapter Instances > Click on vCenter Server
