Aria Automation upgrade to version 8.18 fails with error code LCMVRAVACONFIG90030 from VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

Issue/Introduction

  • Aria Automation upgrade continues to fail for version 8.18 and later, displaying the following error in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle:

Error Code: LCMVRAVACONFIG90030

VMware Aria Automation VA Upgrade Status Check failed.

Upgrade on vRealize Automation VA xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx failed with state 'fatal'. To know more about the failure, run command 'vracli upgrade status --details' on the vRealize Automation VA xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. To revert to snapshot, click RETRY with 'revertSnapshot' property set to true.

  • Password is set to never expire but warn it is not set to never expire.
  • Once upgrade is done, login to the Terminal and forcefully change the password. After changing the password still unable to proceed.

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x
VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Resolution

  1. Revert back to the snapshots and run inventory sync for vRA.

  2. Then take a new snapshot and run these commands below:
    rm ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    rm ~/.ssh/known_hosts

  3. Take a new snapshot again and retry the upgrade

  4. If Above Action plan has also failed and change the root password if expire
