Issue/Introduction

Question:

How do I BACKUP a data set listed as an UNMOVABLE dataset?

Answer:

Specifying SYSPARM UNMOVEAR with a Y

Valid for ARCHIVE, BACKUP, BACKUPCC, RESTORE, RECOVER, and VRECOVER

The default value of N for this sysparm prevents CA Disk from moving unmoveable data sets during archive/backup and restore processing. CA Disk does not officially support unmoveable data sets and therefore cannot guarantee the integrity of the data set after processing it. To permit archive/backup and restore processing of unmoveable data sets, specify this sysparm with a value of Y.
