Issue/Introduction

Question:

I want to set up an event with a WHEN TYPE=MSG but the characters I need to look for are more that 12                                                                                           and the message will have variable data in it.

Message I want to look for: 

1RB5I OUTPUT +CICSD+

 

Answer:

It is not necessary to look for all characters in a message. The only rules, the message must begin in Columns 1 to 16 and can not be longer than 12 characters. 

You can have PCS look for different parts of the message

Example

WHEN1 ===> MSG= EOJ +CICSD+ OR 

WHEN2 ===> MSG= 1RB5I PARTITION EQ F1 AND 

WHEN3 ===> MSG= TPUT +CICSD+ PARTITION EQ F1 AN
