Jaspersoft Report Fails with message Field XYZ Has a Different Parent

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to run a custom Jaspersoft Advanced Reporting report an error is received like:

Field *XYZ* has a different parent (DWH_ODF_*SCHEMA*) than others in list (JoinTree_1)

*XYZ* and *SCHEMA* are used generically above and can be replaced with whatever field and table that the report relates to; this isn't specific to a certain type of attribute.

 

Out of the box reports may still be working.

Cause

The domain information in Jaspersoft may be out of sync.

Resolution

Run the "Restore Domains" job. This will restore the out of the box domains and then readd any custom attribute information.

This solution will not help if the issue is related to a custom domain, as the job only restores the out of the box domain information.
