Unable to add users to localos domain in vCenter via the GUI

Issue/Introduction

In the vSphere Client -> Administration -> Single Sign On -> Users and Groups, when you select "localos" as the domain, the "ADD" button is greyed out, or "A vCenter Single Sign-On service error occurred" error is thrown.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.x

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

This is a known issue with the vSphere Client and will be fixed in a later release.

Resolution

Currently, there is no solution to this issue. To workaround this issue, manage localos users via the Appliance Shell.
