Encryption for Datacom databases only at the table level

Issue/Introduction

We would like to use encryption on our Datacom/DB tables. Can we encrypt individual columns/fields, or only the whole table?

Resolution

At present encryption is managed only at the table level, and cannot be specified at an individual column (field) level.

As we move forward with support for the IBM VSAM Media Manager capability, we expect that customers will use the encryption capabilities of the system hardware and software instead of Datacom-specific encryption.
