Issue/Introduction

End users who receive notifications for quarantined messages, including two URLs to view or release these messages, face an application error when using these links to access the web GUI. However, users can log in to the quarantine portal directly and manage their messages without any problems. The Catalina logs display the following error:

SEVERE [https-jsse-nio-41443-exec-2] org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke Servlet.service() for servlet [actionServlet] in context with path [/brightmail] threw an exception
java.lang.NullPointerException

Environment

  • Standalone Quarantine 10.9.0 - 10.9.1
  • End-user quarantine has been activated with notifications that include view and release URLs, allowing access without requiring user login.

Note: In some cases, the notification template may differ from the configured one. Re-saving the configuration will resolve this issue.
