Issue/Introduction

Installing Vertica fails with

Environment

DX Netops Performance Management all versions

Cause

The /etc/hosts file does not contain an ip that matches an ip on the server

Resolution

Make sure that the /etc/hosts file is configured correctly and contains the ip of the server.

You can verify by running:

ip -a 

or 

ifconfig -a
