Issue/Introduction

Getting ORA-12533: TNS: illegual ADDRESS parameter error while making the client tool connection

Environment

Identity Governance 14.5

Cause

Due to incorrect file format on notepad ++

Resolution

Use notepad to create the tnsname.ora file instead of notepad ++ on the following format

RCMDB1 = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac1-vip.localdomain)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = RCMDB1) ) )
