Problem:
When sending NFA 9.1.x and newer Trap Events to NPC/EM they are showing up with a Category of "Unknown". Also the Description will show up like "NQreporter_MIB.reporter0.1.0.3 Trap" instead of having the correct description.
Environment:
NFA 9.1 and later
Any version of NPC/Event Manager
Resolution:
1) Download the .zip file from the FTP link below to your NPC server:
https://ftp.broadcom.com/user/downloads/pub/netqos/product_patches/EM/NFA_MIB_EM_Rules_164284.zip
2) Extract the zip file.
Copy the .xml files to the locations below:
NetQoSEventRules.xml -> \NetQos\EventManager\EventManagerWS
NetQoSTrapRules.xml -> \NetQos\EventManager\EventManagerService
3) Copy the Reporter.mib file to the directory below:
\NetQoS\EventManager\bin
4) Open a command prompt and change directory to:
\NetQoS\EventManager\bin
Then run the command below to import the updated NFA mib:
mibtodb Reporter.mib
5) Recycle the NetQos Mysql51 service on the NPC/Event Manager server and wait for some time for new traps to come in from NFA, and the new trap events should now be translated properly.
**Note you should be at least NPC version 6.1.194 and Event Manager version 2.1.116 for the events to be displayed**
Additional Information:
TEC1806908- After configuring Alerts on the NFA Administration->Alerts page, I do not see any traps being sent by the Reaper Service on the Harvester
