Issue/Introduction

By following these steps, you will ensure that the Cloud Proxy is synchronized with the correct NTP servers, improving time accuracy across your environment.
Please note that this is NOT applicable for the Aria Operations cluster, ONLY Cloud Proxies.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Resolution

You can update the NTP configuration on CP by following the steps below:

  • Create a snapshot without memory
  • Login to the vSphere Web Client
  • Power off the Cloud Proxy VM
  • Navigate to the Cloud Proxy VM
    • Click the configure tab, select Settings >vApp Options.
  • Select the Key with the value ntp.server.list and click Set Value, then make your changes

The Cloud Proxy should retain the new NTP information even after rebooting.

Additional Information

You can check the connectivity of the NTP server of the Cloud Proxy under the CP VM object metrics.
Please see the screenshot below of Aria Operations 8.18 as an example.
