APM SSO extension breaks Policy Server funtionality.

Issue/Introduction

XPSExport/Import not functioning. Registration the AdminUI not possible, the AdminUI reports in the browser:

   "An unexpected error occurred while configuring the policy store"

 

From smps.log standpoint following events can be seen:

Environment

Policy Server 12.8SP2 on Windows Server 2019;
AdminUI 12.8SP2;
APMforSSO 13.4.0;

Cause

 SiteMinder xerces-c_3_2.dll library has been overwritten by APM SSO 13.4.0 installation.

Resolution

a) Removal of problematic components:

Uninstall APM SSO 13.4.0.
revert libraries from Introscope backup (IntroscopeNativeDataAPI.dll, xerces-c_3_2.dll and libcurl.dll).
Remove Introscope Event Handler from XPSConfig.
Reboot the server.

b) Install APM Infrastrucute Agnet with version 24.9.1.25 or higher with SSO APM extensions.  Those agents contains component APM SSO 13.4.3.2 version and above that does not overwrite SiteMinder libraries.
