Issue/Introduction

Users may wish to create additional Access modules for different teams or purposes. The documentation suggests that users can create a new Access module of type "Access  Rights"

Environment

Identity Portal 14.5.1

Cause

The documentation, specifically the page titled "Create Modules (Non-Object Management)," incorrectly advises users to select the module type as
"Access Rights" for new modules. It fails to highlight the limitation that this type must be unique within the system.

Resolution

It is currently not possible to create more than one Access module of this type within the same instance, leading to confusion for users attempting to do so.

Additional Information

Alternative Solutions

  1. Create a New Cluster:

    • Setting up a new cluster can allow for a separate instance where a new Access module of type "Access Rights" can be created without conflict.
  2. Utilize Scoping:

    • Implement Module Action Scoping and Permission Scoping to manage and restrict access effectively within the existing module. This allows for specific permissions to be controlled and allocated to different user groups or teams.
