Gen 8.6 (WKS86300) uninstall followed by GA install retains WKS86300 files

Issue/Introduction

A Gen 8.6 installation with PTFs WKS86200 and WKS86300 was uninstalled.
After machine restart a new GA install was done.
The Toolset option "Help > About CA Gen Toolset > System Info. > DLL Browser > Report" for just the Gen folder shows 11 files with special Build WKS86200 or WKS86300 i.e.

Is this expected and is the new GA install healthy?

Resolution

The 11 files listed with a Special Build of WKS86200 or WKS86300 were not delivered with the GA install and were delivered with one or both of those PTFs i.e.

This situation has arisen because not all the files in the install directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Gen 8.6" were deleted during the previous uninstall.

The installation should be healthy i.e.
 - If using the GA version those 11 files would not be referenced or used.
 - Support tested a scenario where the 4 new WKS86200 files were artificially added to a clean GA install and then PTF WKS86200 was installed. The PTF installation was successful. The result should be similar if new files added with WKS86300 exist and PTF WKS86300 is installed.

Key points:

• For a Gen installation with PTFs installed the uninstaller only removes files it installed at GA time (which also may have been updated by later PTFs). It will not remove new files that were only installed by PTFs.
• If only the GA version is installed (no PTFs) the uninstaller removes all files and just leaves empty sub-directories.
