By default, Read Only permission is enough to monitor and gather inventory data, metrics, and properties from vCenter Server. However, if you want to monitor the health of vCenter services using VMware Infrastructure Health, make sure the service account linked to the vCenter Server Adapter is either part of the 'SystemConfiguration.Administrator' group or has administrator-level access to vCenter services
Note: After changing the service account to use the administrator account for the vCenter instance, if the issue is not resolved. Try the following:
1. if Infrastructure Health data is populated in reports/dashboards etc, the alert "Objects are not receiving data from adapter instance" could be a false positive. Use the guidlines in the following knowledge base article to resolve that issue:
Objects are not receiving data from adapter instanceā - Alert on any Adapter instances
2. If Infrastructure Health Data is not collected/not sending, and reports/dashboards are not populated then try restarting vCenter adapter, and then the Infrastructure Health adapter with the following steps:
a) navigate to operations>>configurations>>inventory management>>adapter instances>>vCenter Server
b)select the heading for vCenter Adapter, then stop/start them from the toolbar up top
c) repeat the procedure above for the Infrastructure health Adapter as below:
VMware Infrastructure Health is activated by default in the Aria Operations 8.18.X versions and a new VMware Infrastructure Health account is created for each new node and cloud proxy in VMware Aria Operations
