Issue/Introduction

Issue/Problem/Symptoms: 

Device Manager looses connection to the MySQL database with the following error:

0:01:09 1 - Data Source Poller - : 
A non-recoverable error occurred during a database lookup 
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A non-recoverable error occurred during a database lookup 
at System.Net.Dns.GetAddrInfo(String name) 
at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName(String hostName, Boolean includeIPv6) 
at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(String hostNameOrAddress) 
at NetQoS.Portal.Util.InetAddress.GetLocalAddress() 
at NetQoS.Services.DataSources2.DataSourceService2.CheckLocalAddress(String prevLocalAddress) 
at NetQoS.Services.DataSources2.DataSourcePoller.ThreadProc()

Environment:  

Network Flow Analysis, any version.

Cause: 

The issue is environmental related, please see solution below.

Resolution/Workaround:

Add localhost into the host file:

1. Open the file:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

2. Add the following line and save it:

127.0.0.1       localhost
