Non-GE1 HA Interface issues for models edge6x0, edge3x00, and edge7x0

Issue/Introduction

Using a non-GE1 interface for HA will cause HA to not come up for models edge6x0, edge3x00, and edge7x0 running on versions before R5240-20241016-MR-GA

Cause

New edges on models edge6x0, edge3x00, and edge7x0 may be pre-loaded with a version that does not support non-GE1 HA interfaces. When an edge is configured with a non-GE1 interface on an unsupported version, it will cause HA to fail to come up.

Resolution

On edges running a lower version than R5240-20241016-MR-GA, HA will need to be activated with the GE1 interface. The HA pair can then be upgraded to this version and re-cabled/reconfigured to use a non-GE1 interface.

Additional Information

Both the active and standby edge need to be running R5240-20241016-MR-GA or later in order for HA to come up using a non-GE1 interface
