Idea Create from Template adding month to cost plan

Issue/Introduction

If the idea template start date is not the 1st of the month when creating a new idea from the template is adding an additional month to the cost plan.

 

 

STR:

 

1.  Create an Idea to use as template

a.  Start and Finish dates = June 26, 2024

b.  Create a manual cost plan with plan dates Jan thru Dec 2024 (create one detailed row)

 

2. Create a new idea from the template

a.  Start and Finish dates = Nov 26, 2024

 

 

Expected Results:   New Idea plan dates are 12 periods, these may be set off from the original idea start date to the new idea start date as documented.

Actual Results:     The plan start date is offset as expected, but an extra month is added to the end of the plan.

 

Workaround:  If this does happen, manually update the new idea's cost plan to remove the additional month.
