Edge activation may fail if the VCO is unable to generate the certificate during the activation process. This can result in the error message "Invalid activation key - check orchestrator event logs for more details" when attempting to activate via the UI or CLI.
To determine the cause of the issue, please check the operator event logs.
If the problem is due to the VCO's failure to generate the certificate, you should see the following event log:
Edge certificate generation Critical Oct 30, 2024, 3:40:43 PM Failed to generate certificate for "Edge_Name"
This issue can occur if, for some reason, the root CA is unable to generate the certificate for the edge.
Please open a case with the Broadcom support team to investigate further.
As a workaround, the edge can be activated with the "certificate disabled" option enabled.
