Issue/Introduction

After installing Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v11.1-Debian-2024-09-24 patch on our environments.

Post it we see there are below files getting generated  in directory : /run/credentials

systemd-sysctl.service

systemd-sysusers.service

systemd-tmpfiles-setup-dev.service

systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service

We do not have these files on our machines where we haven't yet installed this patch.

Resolution

These files are created for  ramfs mountpoints for systemd OS service.

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/778643/what-is-the-purpose-of-tmpfs-mounts-under-run-credentials

See  mount | grep systemd-

ramfs on /run/credentials/systemd-sysctl.service type ramfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,mode=700)
ramfs on /run/credentials/systemd-sysusers.service type ramfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,mode=700)
ramfs on /run/credentials/systemd-tmpfiles-setup-dev.service type ramfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,mode=700)
ramfs on /run/credentials/systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service type ramfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,mode=70

This are OS related files which should not be removed or altered.
