VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

- Below message shows on top of Aria operations 8.18.

You are in an evaluation mode or in a grace period. Add a VMware Cloud Foundation or VMware vSphere Foundation license to a connected vCenter instance or use the legacy license model.

- Observed the following error message on the license status:
“Entered grace period, days remaining – XX days.”

- There is expired "vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus for VCF" license on "Legacy Licenses" screen of "Subscription".

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18

Cause

This can occur when VCF licensing is expired or when the vCenters associated with Aria Operations have had their license downgraded (e.g. vCenter Standard license is applied instead of vCenter Enterprise Plus for VCF).

Resolution

If valid Aria Operations licensing is registered on Aria Operations, the message can be ignored safely.  Though there is no way to remove the message immediately, this will disappear after grace period reach 0 day.

If your licensing was downgraded you will need to add Operations specific licensing or restore the previous level of vCenter licensing.  If not, you will have restricted usage at day 0 and only have access only to:

  • Subscriptions: License Management and Legacy Licenses
  • Administration: Integrations and Cloud Proxies
