Issue/Introduction
Does Broadcom recommend having a scheduled weekly/monthly/quarterly restart for Clarity services for best performance / improved stability / regular maintenance?
Environment
Any Supported Clarity Releases
Resolution
Clarity does not require a scheduled restart and can perform well long term without any interruption
Planned maintenance restart is not required for Clarity, and in most cases not needed
Some customers have found that having a regular scheduled downtime such as Monthly Clarity services reboot for OS patching helps their system to behave in a more stable way.
Some OS environments require regular patching for optimal server performance which will also impact Clarity running on this machine
As such Clarity services restart is something that can be done on weekly/monthly/quarterly cadence, outside of work hours as a part of regular Maintenance for On Premise systems and combined with OS patching and complete server reboot when necessary
In some rare situations it may also be recommended by Broadcom Support to remedy a specific product issue - in this case you should follow the recommendations provided by the Broadcom Support Engineer
