Issue/Introduction

Password and certificate expiration alerts from NSX-T did not trigger alerts for NSX password and certificate expirations in VMware Aria Operations.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 

Cause

VMware Aria Operations Management Pack Adapter Instance was not configured to Import Alerts from NSX.

 

The expected VMware Aria Operations alerts originated within NSX from a Transport Node (as opposed to a VMware Aria Operations collected metric or property).  For these alerts originating from NSX, the configuration control for the NSX Adapter Instance needs to be changed from the default of false to true in order for VMware Aria Operations to treat them as VMware Aria Operations Alerts.

Resolution

In the VMware Aria Operations the NSX Adapter Instance configuration, set
Import Alerts from NSX to true.

 

Setting Import Alerts from NSX to true causes the NSX Adapter Instance directly import alerts from VMware NSX (formerly known as VMware NSX-T) into VMware Aria Operations (including password and certificate expiration alerts).
