Issue/Introduction

We need to get log details from our AppNeta Monitoring Point.  We have access to the USB port.

Environment

Requirements:
- Physical Access to the monitoring point
- USB that is formatted to FAT32.  (exFAT or NTFS may not give results).  1GB USB stick should suffice.

Resolution

1.  The first step is to ensure the USB drive is formatted to FAT32.  Please note that Windows File Explorer may not support this format, and be aware that exFAT or NTFS may not work.

2.  Insert the FAT32 formatted USB into the monitoring point.  You may notice the LED for Heartbeat may be flashing:

3.   After 2 minutes disconnect the USB drive and check it for files.  You should see content similar to the following:

4.  If nothing is present, insert the USB again and restart the monitoring point.  Wait for the appliance to complete its reboot (about 5 minutes) and then check for content again.

5.  Zip all files and attach into your support ticket.

Additional Information

The output of the log files contains serveral logs and configuration details.  You can open the \ApplianceConfig\ folder and view the output of the HTML file:

If needed you can find additional instructions on formatting to FAT32 here:
